The world’s largest Loop Roller Coaster to open at Illinois Amusement Park

The biggest amusement park in Illinois, Six Flags Great America, has announced that it will be opening the world’s largest ever loop roller coaster in Spring 2018.

Certainly this is not one for those with vertigo; it is 100 feet tall and riders will be able to feel the force of being taken forward and backward on a gigantic loop before suspending them completely upside down giving riders an insane extended hang-time before reeling down in the opposite direction.

The 32 seats are arranged in a unique “face-off” design, with guests seated back-to-back and face-to-face so that riders can see their fellow riders’ reactions and facial expressions as they experience the 360 degree revolutions.

Park President Hank Salemi said:

Standing at 100 feet tall, this is an experience our guests cannot get anywhere else on the planet. With the multiple inversions and record hang-time, this new coaster packs a punch and is going to be one of our most intense attractions.

This will be Six Flags Great America’s 16th coaster. In August 2017, it launched THE JOKER Free Fly Coaster—featuring the iconic DC Comics super villain. This 4D interactive ride uses cutting-edge technology to deliver unpredictable twists, flips and drops, making each ride a wild, new experience.

Located around an hour outside of downtown Chicago in Gurnee, the park has 15 roller coasters, a 20-acre water park, spectacular shows and four kid-themed areas with more than 30 rides.
