Yann Arthus-Bertrand is a French photographer, journalist, reporter and environmentalist. In 1991, he founded the first aerial photography agency in the world and in 2006, Yann started the series Vu Du Ciel (“Seen From The Sky”), a television documentary series each dealing with a particular environmental problem.
The Le patrimoine mondial vu du ciel (“Heritage seen from the sky”) photography exhibition features around 40 natural or cultural sites around the world, showcasing the outstanding richness of the UNESCO cultural heritage.
The exhibition takes place in the Royal Fortress on Sainte-Marguerite island in front of Cannes between 1 July and 29 October 2017. The Fortress is also the home of the Naval Museum and the place where the Man in the Iron Mask, a mysterious prisoner whose identity remains unknown, was imprisoned.
