Although every keen skier wants to spend as much time as possible skiing the well-groomed slopes of the SkiArea that embraces Madonna di Campiglio, Pinzolo, Marilleva and Folgarida their companions may not feel the same. The ski lift company has come up with the ideal solution, the Five of Seven Ski Pass. This ski pass offers five days skiing (not continuous) and two days to experience alternative activities in the area.
The Five out of Seven ski pass, which costs significantly less than the seven continuous days pass, combines five days skiing with two free days. This pass also includes a week’s free pass for the local ski bus.
This ski bus usually costs €2 per day or €10 for a week’s pass. Included in the Five out of Seven is the choice of one activity from a list of the lovely winter experiences to enjoy on one of their free days.
Skiing in Madonna di Campiglio
The other free day could be devoted to activities such as luxury shopping in Madonna di Campiglio or taking part in some other winter sports. Cross-country skiing, tobogganing on Monte Spinale, skating on an outdoor rink or test-driving an Audi on the ice around the surrounding the rink.
All these activities are available in Madonna di Campiglio. Extra charges apply for these activities which are all accessible on the local ski bus. Other activities in the area include husky sledding and indoor skating at the ice rink in Pinzolo. Hotels belonging to the local convention issue the Guestcard (complimentary) to their guests which include free transport on local buses which widens the range of activities available on a non-skiing day for example a visit to Trento, the regional capital.
The winter experiences included in the Five out of Seven ski pass all have a theme – getting close to the natural world. Some are only available on specific dates. The snow moon experience is an evening walk under the full moon which sheds so much light a torch is superfluous.
This walk through the snow includes a hot drink and traditional fayre at a mountain restaurant. The Ski Sunrise is also date specific and combines breakfast on the mountain with an early-morning descent accompanied by ski instructors.
A third date specific activity is the Campiglio Sunset Ski. Participants watch the stunning sunset on the mountain while enjoying an aperitif and music followed by a torchlit ski back down the mountain guided by ski instructors. On a clear day participants in these three activities will experience the enrosadira, a natural phenomenon that is unique to the Dolomites, when the mountains glow pink at sunset and sunrise. As these activities are designed for small groups it is advisable to book places early.
Nature’s Winter Sculptures in Madonna di Campiglio
Available every week during the ski season, the Dolomiti Natural Wellness Winter Walk is an immersion in the natural world of winter in the mountains. To enjoy the beauty of snow-clad plants and frozen ponds and learn about the animals and trees indigenous to the area.
These walks are accompanied by an expert in natural wellness who will enthral with his knowledge of nature and surprise with some sensory activities.
